BYOAI (Bring Your Own AI) describes an integration model in which software products do not embed a fixed AI provider but accept a configurable endpoint. Companies bring their own AI provider, be it Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, a self-hosted Llama 4 deployment or a hybrid combination.

The AI logic in the product (completion, embedding, classification) runs against the company's endpoint, not against a hard-coded provider. The company keeps control over which data the model sees and has full cost transparency: one API contract instead of hidden surcharges in ten different tools.

The principle follows that of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): the software provides the structure and interfaces, and the company brings the asset itself, in this case the AI provider.
